Bank Gaborone Cycle Challenge 2017, Botswana National Cycling Championships
The Bank Gaborone Cycle Challenge 2017, Botswana National Cycling Championships took place on 5 November 2017. Bank Gaborone partnered with Botswana Cycling Association by sponsoring the event to the tune of P173 000.00. Bank Gaborone however, was not new to cycling. In 2016 the bank partnered with Office of the president to raise money for a financial literacy program and the Presidents housing appeal. Hosting a second cycling event is an indication of the banks commitment to the growth of sports in Botswana. The event also presented a platform to participate in the health and fitness of Batswana as spectators were engaged with a high intensity aerobic workout. The Bank Gaborone cycling team came out tops in the 30km Fun Ride. Finalists in the event qualified to compete at the Commonwealth games.
